BROW – PERMANENT COSMETICS AFTERCARE
It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications and scarring and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
- NO SUBMERGED BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING OR SWEAT INDUCING EXERCISE for 7-10 DAYS. When showering for the first 5-7 days use Shower-Shield visors as provided in your AfterCare Kit. They are reusable 2 times each. Refrain from submerging/exposing to salt water or a chlorinated pool until fully healed (21 days).
- After 7-10 days you may resume exercise or heavy sweating. When exercising wear a sweatband to avoid sweat on the brow area until fully healed.
- Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight. Wear a hat for the first weeks of healing in the event of sun exposure longer than 10 minutes. After healing (30 days) use sunscreen to avoid fading from the sun. Sun exposure may cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.
- DO NOT pick, itch, or scratch at the brows. Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days following your microblading procedure. The flakes must fall off independently or you will risk removing the color and possibly scarring.
- Avoid Infection. Do not touch the brows during healing. Be mindful of sleeping on your back until your brows have healed and use a clean pillowcase. (Preferably Satin to avoid rubbing on a rougher fabric).
- NO MAKEUP should be applied directly on the brows during the healing process. Often foundation or powders applied around the brows may fall into the brow area. The bacteria from applied makeup and makeup application brushes or sponges increase the risk of infection. Avoid this if possible and ensure you follow the instructions below regarding the twice-daily washing method to keep the brows clean.
- If brows get wet during the healing process pat them dry with a towel DO NOT RUB.
- If you anticipate needing to have an MRI scan please inform your doctor that you have had microblading/semi-permanent makeup done.
- If you are planning a chemical peel or any other medical procedure please inform your therapist of the procedure you have had. This type of procedure should only be done once the healing process from Permanent Cosmetics/Brows is complete.
- No Botox for 2-3 weeks. If you plan to leave the opportunity open for a 3-6 week Touch-Up wait until 2-3 weeks after that appointment as well.
1 Day Following Appointment
Absorb Excess Fluid. For the first few hours after your brow appointment gently blot the treated area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Most brows will not produce any lymph fluid but if yours do blot until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents buildup and scabbing.
2-10 Days Following Appointment
Wash Eyebrows. For about 2 to 10 days following your microblading service make sure to wash your eyebrows gently (patting motion not rubbing) with a damp cotton round and cool water each morning and night with water. Be Gentle. Cleanse the area with a smooth motion for about 10 seconds. Micellar water is the only cleansing solution that should be used besides water during this time. DO NOT soak the brows. Gently pat to dry.
Do NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA) or any exfoliants. Do NOT use Retinol products until the brows are fully healed.
Do NOT allow your brows to get wet outside of gently washing them twice daily.
Moisturize Treatment Area. Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a Q-tip and spread it across the treated area. Be sure NOT to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin, cause the brows to collect debris, and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on while your eyebrows are wet or damp.
If you have excessively oily skin WAIT to begin ointment use until day 3 or 4. You may not need to use healing ointment at all. For those with very dry skin, ointment can be used up to 2 times a day.
What to Expect:
Many brows will need up to 1 month to fully heal visibly and 6 weeks through the lower layers. Brows will go through many stages throughout healing.
The Dark Stage: Please anticipate that the brows may appear very dark at first. This is completely normal as the brows gather the excess pigment with blood or scab to release before revealing the final result in the layers of skin below.
The Flaking Stage: Some clients do not scab or flake and others do. This is entirely due to skin type. If you have more oily skin or larger pores, this stage may last longer than the average 7-10 days. DO NOT pick, itch, or scratch the brows risking removing the flakes without their own release. This may cause patchy results or scarring.
The Dull Stage: Once dryness/flaking has subsided and new skin has formed, the brows may appear dull as if they did not retain sufficiently. Do not judge the brows or the color at this time.
The skin requires an additional 5-7 days on average to rise the lowest layers of pigment back to the visible surface.
Final Results: Around the 3rd- 4th week of healing, the brow’s final color and the retained amount will be visible. The pigment will re-emerge and new skin will settle in; you will be left with a completely healed Brow. You may notice that the skin has pressed out some areas more than others. This is normal and the purpose of a 6-8 week touch up is to perfect these areas.
Touch Ups:
Please understand that the placement of pigment into skin is not like paint placed on paper or a wall. The pigment that is placed inside the skin will shed to some degree as you heal. The skin’s job is to press out excess pigment and to heal what it perceives as an injury.
In the 3-6 weeks after your initial appointment, we will be able to see what aspects of the pigment you retained best, if you need more saturation (warmth, darkness, or color vitality), and if we need to replace any aspects of the brows that shed out.
Depending on skin type, age, after-care, and lifestyle, the brows may lose up to 30% of the initially implanted pigment and some strokes may need to be restored or refined.
Therefore, to ensure the brows are perfected and completed, a Touch-Up is held at 6-8 weeks.
After 10 weeks it is no longer considered a “Touch Up.” Post 10 weeks, any session will be considered an “Under 1 Year Maintenance”.
Most MAINTENANCE appointments do not need a Touch-Up as the brows should already have a remaining pigment base layer from the previous year’s initial appointment.
Brow Touch Up appointments are a $150 Service.
Please do not expect to be fully satisfied with your results if you have not had a Touch Up to complete the work you invested in for your appearance. A Touch Up is required to receive the results we can stand by at For the Beauty.
It is advised to book the Touch Up before you leave your initial appointment; however, if you would like you may call, text, or email to book your follow-up appointment.

- Do NOT over-exfoliate. The skin should not be raw in any way before your appointment.
1-3 DAYS BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE:
- Avoid alcohol (especially red wine)
- Avoid coffee or tea or excessive amounts of caffeine
- Gently exfoliate your lips 2 days before your procedure, 2x/day.
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water (the first sign of dehydration is dry lips which will affect the implantation of your pigment)
DAY OF PROCEDURE:
- Avoid intense physical activity (light yoga and walking are ok)
- Please wear your normal makeup on the day of your procedure. Please bring your makeup to touch up post-appointment for your photos on file.
- It’s encouraged to bring your favorite lipsticks and/or lip liners with you to your appointment or photos of lip shapes and colors you prefer
You CANNOT BE PREGNANT. No exceptions.
If there are any blemishes, pimples, active cold sores, or skin irritation, we cannot do the procedure on the affected area until the blemish or area of concern is gone.
Please be mindful of arriving on time and our Cancellation/Rescheduling policy. If you are more than 15 minutes late/ resulting in insufficient time to complete your appointment before your technician needs to serve a following appointment for another client, your appointment may need to be rescheduled, and your deposit will be forfeited.
In the case of any history of HSV. If you’ve ever had cold sores or herpes on your lips, taking antiviral medication for some time (as advised by your doctor) before and after the procedure is advised. The tattooing can cause a cold sore flare-up, affecting the results. This should have been discussed in your consult or before your initial appointment.
Hyperpigmentation. Depending on ethnicity, clients may experience a propensity to hyper or hypo pigment (Lighter or darker splotches/areas) after their treatment. While this may feel distressing, don’t be alarmed! The melanin and pigment will eventually blend into each other within the next 6-8 weeks. No alterations can be done before healing, so this process must be treated with patience for the process.
This should have been discussed in your consult or before your initial appointment.
We prefer that our clients use Skin Medica’s, Lytera. It’s a medical-grade product by the makers of Botox and Juvederm. We suggest applying it for 2 weeks before the treatment and continuing for the next 4 weeks to prevent these hyperpigmented areas from occurring.
This occurs in Caucasian skin occasionally, although it will most likely occur in clients with heavy concentrations of melanin.
LIP BLUSH – PERMANENT COSMETICS AFTERCARE
It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications and scarring and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
- EATING & DRINKING: Avoid consuming oily, hot, heavily seasoned, or spicy foods for the first 3-7 days of healing. Avoid sandwiches, biting into fruit, or foods that are acidic. After every meal gently rinse and clean lips, pat dry, then re-apply ointment/ Vitamin E oil. Hot foods/drinks trigger swelling. Refrain from drinking any beverages, especially alcohol or hot beverages, from the edge of a cup for 10-14 days.
- BRUSHING TEETH: For the first three (3) days coat lips with a generous amount of Vitamin E oil before brushing and use minimal toothpaste. DO NOT whiten teeth while healing.
- SMOKING: Smoking is strongly discouraged for optimal results.
- NO SUBMERGED BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING OR SWEAT INDUCING EXERCISE for 7-10 DAYS. Refrain from submerging/ exposing to salt water or a chlorinated pool until fully healed (30 days). After 10 days you may resume exercise.
- Avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight. The mouth is a more challenging area to keep out of the sun because a hat is unlikely to shade them. However, avoiding sun exposure is recommended for any form of tattoo or permanent cosmetic procedure. After healing (14 days) use an SPF lip balm to avoid fading from the sun.
- DO NOT pick, itch, or scratch the lips. Itching and flaking will appear quickly during the first seven days following your microblading procedure. The flakes must fall off independently or you will risk removing the color and possibly scarring.
- Avoid Infection. Do not touch the lips during healing. Be mindful of sleeping on your back until your lips have healed and use a clean pillowcase. (Preferably Satin to avoid rubbing on a rougher fabric).
- NO MAKEUP should be applied directly on the lips during the healing process. Often foundation or powders applied around the mouth may fall into the treated area. The bacteria from applied makeup and makeup application brushes or sponges increase the risk of infection.
- If you anticipate needing to have an MRI scan, please inform your doctor that you have had microblading/semi-permanent makeup done.
- If you use Retinol or Retin-A, do not allow it close to the treated area for thirty (30) days. It will cause the area to peel and lighten. If you are planning a chemical peel or any other medical procedure, please inform your therapist of the procedure you have had. This type of procedure should only be done once the healing process from Permanent Cosmetics/Lips is complete.
- No Botox or Filler for the entirety of the healing process and additionally 8 weeks after any Touch-Up appointment as well.
1 Day Following Appointment
- Absorb Excess Fluid. For the first few hours after your Permanent Cosmetics Lip appointment gently blot the treated area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents buildup and scabbing.
- Ice the area. Ice packs should be applied for 10 to 15 minutes each hour for the first 4-8 hours following the procedure. The ice is used to reduce swelling and provide comfort. After the first 24 hours the use of ice is no longer beneficial.
- Ointment. Generously and consistently apply A & D ointment with a Q-Tip in the procedure area for the first 24-48 hours. After 48 hours you will use Vitamin E oil.
- Pain Management. If needed, over-the-counter Tylenol and Benedryl are recommended to relieve pain and reduce swelling temporarily.
2-10 Days Following Appointment
- Cleansing. At least once a day – with mild alcohol-free soap and warm water. Do not rub and be very gentle. Toothpaste and mouthwash are considered “soap” and will remove lip color so proceed with caution when using. All cleansing should be done with a clean gauze dipped in cool water and gently dabbed on the treated area. Do not use cotton or washcloths. Do not rub the area in any way.
- Keep moisturized. Apply Vitamin E oil or a non-petroleum-based ointment. Apply to the treatment area with a Q-tip several times per day. (Do not use mineral oil or petroleum-based products such as Vaseline.) This is to be done gently dabbing not to disrupt the pigmentation bonding process. This will keep the area moist and accelerate the healing. Do not let the area dry out; keep moist at all times. Check your lips frequently and re-apply as necessary. Do not press or rub when applying. Apply an extra heavy coat of ointment to the treated area before bedtime, bath, washing of adjacent areas, and immediately upon rising in the morning.
What to Expect:
- Swelling & Tenderness. After your treatment the lips will be swollen. Some clients swell very little while other clients swell significantly. This is normal and will quickly subside significantly within 4 hours. All remaining swelling should subside within 24-48 hours.
- Color. The lips will appear on average 40% brighter and more densely pigmented than they will after healing. We relate this to how lips appear after washing off a long-wear lipstick. The lips often appear “Lightly stained” or “blushed” which is closer to the desired final shade of how they will appear after scabbing and peeling the surface pigment layer is fully shed. Do not be alarmed if the lips go through several stages or color-settling for the full 6-8 weeks after peeling is complete. Some days the lips will appear more vibrant, other days the color may appear patchy. Lip tissue is unique and goes through many changes below the surface as the pigment settles into the membrane. Judge the color and its need for a touch up after 6 weeks.
- Peeling/ Oozing. Lips may ooze for a few days and peel for approximately a week. Picking and pulling off skin that is not ready to come off will cause pigment loss and can pull out deeper tissue resulting in scarring and/or infection may occur. It is important that this protective “cover” stay on during the healing process (three to six days). After sleeping the first-night post-procedure the crust will have dried on the lips. Blot with water, clean, and apply the aftercare product as directed. Try not to disturb the crust when cleaning and let it fall off by itself. The edges or lip liner will be the last to fall off. Pulling this off will result in an uneven splotchy line or an indented scar.
Touch Ups:
Please note that your results are incomplete without a Touch Up. You investment in your initial session will not result in your desired outcome without a Touch Up. Depending on skin type, age, and after-care the lips may lose up to 40% of the initially implanted pigment from the first session.
The Touch-Up allows us to retouch any rejected pigment on the area and to ensure the lips are perfectly even should areas of the lips fade creating any appearance of asymmetry. If you choose to opt for a scheduled Touch-Up, Touch-ups may be scheduled 6-8 weeks from your initial appointment. After 10 weeks it is no longer considered a “Touch Up.” Post 10 weeks, any session will be considered an “Under 1 Year Maintenance”.
Most MAINTENANCE appointments do not need a Touch-Up as the lips should already have a remaining pigment base layer from the previous year’s initial appointment.
Touch-Up appointments are $175.
Risks:
After 48-72 hours if any form of redness, tenderness, drainage, fever, or rash occurs please immediately contact your health care provider.
- In the case of any history of HSV. If you’ve ever had cold sores or herpes on your lips, taking antiviral medication for some time before and after the procedure is advised. The tattooing can cause a cold sore flare-up affecting the results. This should have been discussed in your consult
- Hyperpigmentation. Depending on ethnicity, clients may experience a propensity to hyper or hypo pigment (Lighter or darker splotches/areas) after their treatment. While this may feel distressing, don’t be alarmed! The melanin and pigment will eventually blend into each other within the next 6-8 weeks. Scalp Micropigmentation
SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION PRE-APPOINTMENT CARE
It is critical to follow all pre-care instructions to prevent complications
and scarring and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
If any of these instructions are not followed, and we cannot treat you, you will forfeit the deposit.
Hair Preparation:
One week before your initial appointment, moisturize your scalp 3 to 4 times a day in the areas that will be pigmented. This will ensure your scalp is in the best possible condition and hydrated, allowing the pigment to be properly absorbed. If your skin is oily, then do not moisturize. Too much oil in the skin is just as bad as too dry skin.
2-3 WEEKS BEFORE THE PROCEDURE:
- Avoid all facials, bleaching treatments, or waxings around the treatment area
- Protect your skin from UV rays or tanning beds for two weeks before your appointment. Please do not show up sunburned.
- No anti-acne or anti-aging products on the skin for two weeks before your procedure.
- No Accutane should have been used for three months before the appointment
- Avoid Botox and fillers
- Avoid Glycolic acid, chemical peels, and laser treatments on the face

SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION AFTERCARE
It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications and scarring and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
- NO SUBMERGED BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, FRESH, SALT, OR CHLORINATED WATER for 30 days
- NO SUN EXPOSURE, TANNING, OR SWEAT INDUCING EXERCISE for 10-14 DAYS. When showering for the first 10 days, DO NOT expose the area to full shower pressure for at least 10 days. You do not want the water to beat on the pigmented area. The water will cause swelling and moisture and remove the scabs. Pat the treatment area to dry, do not rub/wipe the treated area. After 10 days, you may resume exercise.
- Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight. Wear a hat for the first weeks of healing in the event of sun exposure longer than 10 minutes. The hat must be clean and loose-fitting. If you do wear a hat in the healing process, you must allow the scalp to breathe properly, so remove the hat every 30 minutes for the first 3 days. After healing (30 days), use sunscreen to avoid fading from the sun. Long-term; tanning beds and sun exposure will cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.
- DO NOT pick, itch, or scratch at the treated area. Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days following your microblading procedure. The flakes must fall off independently, or you will risk removing the color and possibly scarring.
- Avoid harsh chemicals and hair growth treatments. Do not touch or saturate the scalp with hair growth serums or treatments during healing. Harsh chemicals can cause color shift with the pigment or loss of retention.
- NO MAKEUP OR HAIR STYLING PRODUCTS should be applied to the treated area during healing. Do not use anything on your scalp that contains alcohol for 10 days.
- If your eyebrows get wet during the healing process, pat them dry with a towel, DO NOT RUB.
- If you anticipate needing to have an MRI scan, please inform your doctor that you have had Scalp Micropigmentation done.
- If you are planning a chemical peel or any other medical procedure, please inform your therapist of the procedure you have had. This type of procedure should only be done once the healing process from Scalp Micropigmentation is complete.

- There may still be scabs on your scalp. Apply moisturizer 2+ daily to prevent dryness and flaky skin. If you have oily skin, then skip this step.
- You can sweat lightly. No gym, No weight lifting, No cardio, No running.
- Do not shave the head.
Day 10+
- Should you desire to shave your scalp, only use an electric razor at this juncture. You should wait 30 days before using a razor blade.
What to Expect:
Redness and irritation are normal for 1 to 3 days.
A tiny wound is created in the skin when each microdot of pigment is applied. A scab heals over the wound and eventually falls away. The scabbing process typically takes 5 to 7 days, but it can last up to 14 days for some. The color and saturation of the Scalp Micropigmentation go through several phases throughout the healing process. Please be patient as the microdots darken, scab, release, appear dull and faded, and then finally return to your end-result color after 30 days.
Long-Term AfterCare:
Do use sunscreen. Look for a water-resistant, broad-spectrum coverage with an SPF of at least 30 daily to help preserve your color. The ultraviolet rays from the sun may damage the SMP pigments if no sunscreen is used over the course of many months or years. The end result would be fading and the need for an early Maintenance appointment.
Infections:
It is very unlikely that you will have an adverse reaction to SMP. Excessive redness, excessive swelling, purulent drainage, and/or pain radiating beyond the site of the tattoo may be a sign of infection. If you experience any itching, swelling, blistering, or any other complications post-procedure, please contact a medical provider first and then call us. A fever is another symptom of an underlying condition, which is most often an infection.
Follow-Up Sessions:
Most Scalp Micropigmentation procedures REQUIRE at least one Follow-Up appointment, which is agreed to and held by deposit at or before the initial appointment begins. Scalp Micropigmentation lasts an average of 4 years or longer if done properly. Any appointments after your initial appointments and scheduled Follow-Up are made at 30% off the original price.
HAIR DENSITY TREATMENTS AFTERCARE
It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications and scarring and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
- NO SUBMERGED BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, FRESH, SALT, OR CHLORINATED WATER for 30 days
- NO SUN EXPOSURE, TANNING, OR SWEAT INDUCING EXERCISE for 10-14 DAYS. When showering for the first 10 days, DO NOT expose the area to hard shower pressure for 10 days.
- Pat treated area dry with a towel when wet, DO NOT RUB.
- No Botox for 2-3 weeks. This also includes the time to be considered around any Follow-Up appointments.
Day 1-4
- Take ibuprofen and/or Benadryl pain reliever to reduce swelling/discomfort.
- You can take a light shower, light water pressure, and gently shampoo your scalp. Pat dry, do not rub.
- Do not sweat. No gym, No weight lifting, No cardio, No running.
- Do not shave the head
Day 5-6
- You can take a light shower, light water pressure, and gently shampoo your scalp. Pat dry, do not rub.
- Apply coconut oil to the area to keep moisturized.
- Do not sweat. No gym, No weight lifting, No cardio, No running.
- Do not shave the head.
Day 7-9
- There may still be scabs on your scalp. Apply moisturizer 2+ daily to prevent dryness and flaky skin. If you have oily skin, then skip this step.
- You can sweat lightly.
- Do not shave the head.
- Day 10+
- You may return to the gym with no issues.

SALINE PIGMENT/INK REMOVAL AFTERCARE
It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications
and scarring and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
- NO SUBMERGED BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, OR EXERCISE for 7-10 DAYS. NO EXCEPTIONS. It is best to refrain from these activities until the scabs have fallen off naturally and completely.
- KEEP THE AREA DRY. If the skin is not allowed to dry out quickly, you will NOT get the best results. If any moisture touches the area, gently pat dry. For brows USE SHOWER SHIELDS while showering to prevent the area from being submerged in water. Wash face around the area with a washcloth.
- DO NOT PICK, ITCH, OR TOUCH SCAB. All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off, you will reopen the wound, increase the risk of infection, and possibly cause scarring or hyperpigmentation, as well as prevent the saline from removing as much pigment as possible. Keeping the scabs on as long as possible is critical to achieve optimum results.
- STARTING IMMEDIATELY DO DAILY – KEEP AREA CLEAN. Blot the area with the HOME CARE LiFT WASH provided to you as described on the bottle with a cotton round (NO LINT) – 3 to 4 times daily using a lint free cotton round, paper towel, or gauze. NO RUBBING, only gentle blotting so as not to disturb the scabs. Keep the area open to the air. Do not cover it with a Band-Aid or anything else. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. You should not be touching the area at all, but if you need to, please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean.
- NO ICE.
- Until scabbing is complete and all fallen off, NO makeup or skincare products should go within 2.5cm of the procedure area.
- While healing, please refrain from threading, waxing, or hair removal products on the treated area.
FIRST 7-10 DAYS
- During the first 2 hours, fluid will typically ooze in the treated areas. Gently dab with Saline Wipes or gauze as provided in the After-Care Kit.
- Refrain from wetting the area. Refrain from sweating. Use a makeup wipe or a washcloth to wash the area around the procedure area. Use Shower-Guard visors for brows to prevent wetting in the shower.
- Any redness surrounding the treated area subsides within an hour or two. Redness within the treated area becomes brown (scabbed) as the skin dries out.
- Only touch with very clean hands, ideally no touching for 48 hours
- Home Care Solution is to be used immediately as described on the bottle (Provided in After Care Kit) or drug store Saline Wound-Care Wipes can be used to remove excess oil, i.e., for scalp tattoos, do this very gently. Do not use any other aftercare products during this initial drying-out phase.
- For Lip Pigment Removal treatments, during this phase, keep movements small and to a minimum if at all possible.
AFTER SCABBING HAS ALL FALLEN
- HEALING SOLUTION – VITAMIN E OIL: ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop of Vitamin E Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks or until the next lightening session. Use a Q-tip. DO NOT apply the Vitamin E oil UNTIL all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off. We aim to keep the area dry until all scabs naturally fall off. Keeping up with your select ointment application for at least 4x weeks will reduce the risk of scarring or discoloration.
ADDITIONAL THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:
- Excessive movements are likely to crack the scab, which is not ideal for easy healing. Do not attempt to remove the scab before it naturally heals from the treated area Excessive movements are likely to crack the scab, which is not ideal for easy healing. Do not attempt to remove the scab before it naturally heals away from the treated area. For eyebrows, the scab is held in eyebrow hair until gently removed. AT NO TIME CAN YOU PICK OFF THE ATTACHED SCABS. YOU WILL CAUSE UNWANTED RESULTS.
- The skin may appear pink or discolored for a few weeks before returning to its original shade. Sometimes pigment that has spread underneath the skin may rise to the surface before coming out completely. The tattoo may appear to have ‘bled’ to surrounding tissue in these cases. This is all part of the process and can be addressed during future sessions if needed.
- Typically the scab can last anywhere from 7 – 14 days, depending on aftercare and skin.
SALINE REMOVAL IS A PROCESS.
Patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a lighting product service or laser. Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. If your lips or brows were fully healed, desirable results take an average of 3-6 sessions depending on the depth, the size of the removal area, and pigment of the unwanted tattoo, among other factors.
How many sessions are needed will depend on how recently done the Permanent Cosmetics were, how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted, and how much area needs to be removed for the desired result. In many cases, only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened/removed, and then we can continue the correction process by color correcting or color shifting. In those cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, color correcting will not be an option, and removing as much of the pigment as possible will be our goal.
- It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done. No exceptions. 6 weeks is ideal before adding new brow strokes or shading.
- Results cannot be foreseen, predicted, or guaranteed.
IN THE CASE OF INFECTION:
During the procedure, we are inflicting a controlled wound. Clients must ensure to follow a strict aftercare protocol to avoid any chance of infection. In the event of an infection, you may experience some pressure and/or burning, pus, redness, or tenderness of the area. The following recommendations help resolve the infection.
Wash the areas thoroughly with unscented, pH-balanced soap. Cetaphil or Pears soap work well.
Rinse well, make sure you completely dry the area by dabbing and using something that will not get stuck, and pull any remaining scabs. Gently using a blow dryer can work but avoid burning the area.
When the area is completely dry, apply some Polysporin or Neosporin, and the infection generally resolves within 24 hours.
If the infection does not resolve or gets worse, please see your GP.

TEETH WHITENING AFTERCARE
It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications and achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
Professional teeth whitening helps your smile look bright and stain-free, but the reality is they won’t stay pearly white forever – especially if you keep up old habits.
Teeth have the acquired pellicle layer, which protects the more sensitive parts. Yet, this is where stains emerge. Teeth whitening and dental cleaning remove this barrier, albeit temporarily, and open the enamel’s pores in the process. It takes 24 hours for the layer to regenerate; as such, the longevity of whitening hinges on the 48 hours following the procedure. Keep the following tips in mind.
1-2 Days Following Appointment
Particularly in the 48 hours after your teeth whitening procedure, avoid anything acid-based, including soda, pickles, and citrus fruits like orange and lemon. Avoid foods that easily create stains:
- Coffee
- Red white
- Fruit
- Fruit juices
- Beer
- Teas
- Soy sauce
- Cured meats
- Chocolate
- Curry powder
- Colored Toothpaste
- Tobacco Products
- Smoking of any kind, including Vapes/ E-cigarettes
During this stage, your teeth are vulnerable to staining and decay. Consuming these items not only negates the effects of the whitening procedure but could also set your teeth up for long-term damage due to the pores of the teeth being open during this time frame.
If you eat something dark-colored, be sure to rinse your mouth out afterward and brush your teeth. If you are on the go, chew some sugar-free gum within 20 minutes of finishing your meal.
For the first 48 hours, avoid mouthwash usage.
What can you consume during the first 48 hours? Ideally, anything that’s white or light in color and non-acidic is less likely to stain. Examples may be:
- Milk
- Pasta
- Rice
- Cauliflower
- Eggs
- Fish
- Skinless chicken breasts
- Potatoes
- Cottage cheese
- Yogurt
- Bread
- Oatmeal
After 48 hours, consider supplementing these foods with lighter-colored fruits like apples and bananas and crunchy, acid-neutralizing vegetables like carrots, green beans, and celery.
Temperature: Your recently whitened teeth may be extremely sensitive to hot and cold sensations. Avoid anything too extreme in either direction and, for now, consider using an anti-sensitivity toothpaste. For most patients, sensitivity lasts one to three days.
- You must wait 8 weeks minimum between Whitening Sessions
